The bi-directional thing is actually handy — my daughter flipped it around mid-build and the circuit still lit up, no redoing the whole row. Bright little LED too, way better than the dim one from our old kit.

Didn't realize until my son built his first circuit that this LED works no matter which way you plug it in, so he stopped getting frustrated when his lights wouldn't turn on. The little plastic housing clicks into the block tray solidly too. Simple part, but it saved us a lot of tears.

My daughter figured out she could flip this LED around either way in her circuit and it still lights up, which honestly blew her mind a little. It clicks into the blocks just as snugly as the ones that came in her kit.
